Princess Beatrice is to marry her Italian fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday, May 29 at The Chapel Royal, Buckingham Palace has announced.

Guests pictured arriving at the event included Beatrice's mum Sarah Ferguson, 60, and younger sister, however her father was not present.

Princess Beatrice announced her engagement in September 2019, after the couple had been dating for a year.

Many royal weddings have taken place in the Chapel, including that of Queen Victoria to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg on 10 February 1840.

It is the first of those weddings to take place at the Chapel Royal. Beatrice is grinning as she holds a rose covered wreath, while Eugenie looks a little more serious in the background.

"Following the decision by His Royal Highness to step back from public duties for the foreseeable future, the Duke of York has asked the Ministry of Defence if this promotion might be deferred until such time that His Royal Highness returns to public duty".

A source has confirmed the princess will have a "low-key" special day, which is what the royal couple wanted from the get-go.

The couple are set to start their new life without HRH to their names in the northern spring and all eyes will be on whether they return to the United Kingdom for the family wedding. Their reception will take place at the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will Wednesday later this year at The Chapel Royal.

Beatrice, 31, will be the sixth of the Queen's eight grandchildren to Wednesday.

Based on that, it would seem as though Beatrice will also get snubbed following her wedding this year.

The picture shows the royal sisters as bridesmaids at their nanny Alison Wardley's wedding in 1993, wearing white ruffled dresses.

The princess, who is ninth in line to the throne, hopes to have her own children too, her friend added.

She is not a full-time working royal but works for Afiniti, an artificial intelligence software firm, where she is vice president of partnerships and strategy.

"We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement", the couple said in a statement previous year.

Mr Mapelli Mozzi is the son of former Olympic skier Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi and Nikki Williams-Ellis and is a count himself.
